How to find wireless networks?
To connect to a wireless network on your computer, you must be in range of the network. You can use your computer’s “Connect to a Network” dialog box to find any wireless networks near you. The list of wireless networks that appears in this box not only displays the names of the networks, but also includes the signal strength of each listed network.
Search for wireless networks using Windows XP
Step 1
Click “Start” and select “Control Panel” from the menu that appears.
Step 2
Click the “Network Connections” link.
Step 3
Click the icon that shows two blue computer screens in the “Network Connections” window.
When the next window opens click “View Available Wireless Networks“. You will now see a list of all wireless networks near you.
Find wireless networks with Windows 7 and Vista
Step 1
Right click on the “Wireless” icon at the bottom right of your computer screen. icon The computer looks like bars in ascending or descending order. The “Network Connections” window appears.
Step 2
Click the “Refresh” button on the right side of the window.
Check the list that appears. The list includes wireless networks in your area.
